VIBRANT Hibiscus Dust yogurt bowl
Some mornings, I find myself mixing paint colors that perfectly match what's happening in my kitchen. Today's breakfast bowl started as a happy accident – a sprinkle of vibrant hibiscus powder across plain Greek yogurt created the exact shade of red I'd been trying to capture in my Red Skies paintings. Add fresh passion fruit and toasted almonds, and suddenly you've got something that's both simple and beautiful. It's quick enough for busy mornings but special enough to make you pause and appreciate the colors on your spoon. The tang of yogurt meets the subtle sweetness of hibiscus, while almonds add a necessary crunch. It's proof that sometimes the simplest combinations make the best kind of art.
Serves 2
Ingredients
2 cups Greek yogurt (0% Fage preferred)
2 fresh passion fruits
1 tablespoon dried hibiscus powder
1/4 cup sliced almonds, toasted
Method
1. Toast almonds in a dry pan over medium heat until golden and fragrant, about 3-4 minutes. Set aside to cool.
2. Divide yogurt between two bowls, creating a canvas-like surface with gentle swirls.
3. Cut passion fruits in half and spoon their jewel-like contents over the yogurt.
4. Dust the surface with hibiscus powder using a fine-mesh sieve, letting it fall like red dawn mist. 5. Scatter toasted almonds across the top.
Protein additions: Hemp hearts, chia seeds, or a spoonful of almond butter
Artist's Note:Let the hibiscus powder fall naturally, creating patterns like dawn clouds across your bowl. The color will slowly bleed into the yogurt, creating watercolor-like effects – each bowl becomes its own painting.
